Ascent Competition

Calling all university design students and K-12 educators! This is your chance to show off your 3D modeling prowess: create a SketchUp project or classroom lesson for a chance to attend 3D Basecamp and present your idea.

Student criteria

Student entrants will be judged on the following criteria.
Modeling skills

Your submission should be primarily modeled within SketchUp, displaying your mastery of 3D modeling techniques.

Creativity

How unique or compelling is the concept driving the design and execution of your work?

Elegant design

Your project should be dynamic, thoughtful, and beautiful — and the documents that communicate your work should be too.

Industry understanding

Does your submission align with industry standards in your field of study? Aim to impress professionals who evaluate your work.

Educator Criteria

Educator entrants will be judged on the following criteria.
Alignment with course objectives

The lesson plan or project you've created align with and achieve the overall objectives of your course.

Integration

SketchUp should be an essential tool that aligns with the lesson objectives. Other tools, software and media may be used.

Innovation

How creative and new is the idea behind your lesson?

Engagement

The lesson should actively engage your students, being compelling and thought-provoking.

Skill building

Does your curriculum help build meaningful skills for students?

Adaptability

Is the lesson plan flexible enough to suit varied student learning styles?
