3D Basecamp Ascent Competition

Educator Competition

Educators, we want to see your best example of Project Based Learning using SketchUp in the classroom! Along with SketchUp, your lessons may utilize any other tools or software that helps facilitate your learning objectives. Three talented finalists will win a free trip to SketchUp’s 3D basecamp in Palm Springs where they will share their lessons to an audience of attendees.

Finalists will have the opportunity to present a 15 minute summary of their lesson plan, pedagogy and project learning objectives. Judges will review presentations and pick a grand prize winner based on the below competition criteria.

The prize includes:

  • Roundtrip airfare to Palm Springs for SketchUp 3D Basecamp for all three finalists!
  • Free admission to 3D Basecamp and lodging at the event (September 24th-28th, 2018)
  • Chance to win grand prize of $1,000.00
  • Heaps of recognition, esteem and bragging rights

Submission format: 36”x24” project board in line with provided submission template

Competition criteria:

  • Core subject alignment: How does the lesson plan (or project) relate to the overall objectives of your class?
  • Integration: SketchUp should be an essential tool and in line with the lesson objectives. Other tools, software and media may be used, of course.
  • Innovation: How creative and new is the idea behind your lesson?
  • Engagement: The lesson should engage students. It should be compelling and thought provoking.
  • Skill building: Does your curriculum help build meaningful skills for students?
  • Adaptability: Is the lesson plan flexible enough to suit the needs of other educators?

We are accepting entries until June 30th, 2018.

This competition is only open to K-12 educators in the U.S. and Canada. All entrants must be 18 or older to participate.
